As a child of the 60s, I watched Lost in Space and became insatiably curious about what might exist beyond planet Earth.  I didn’t have a “filter” then; so, in my imaginative mind, space travel and contact with beings from other planets was quite possible.

My inquisitiveness about the cosmos naturally expanded when man landed on the moon in 1969.  I was eight years old and watched on our small, black-and-white TV as astronauts bounced on the moon and staked an American flag on it’s surface.  I vividly recall that I went out that night with my Dad, and we looked for the flag through the lens of my new, high-powered telescope.  Of course, we couldn’t see it on the crescent moon, but we talked about how mysterious the universe is and wondered if intelligent life existed elsewhere.

Just a year before the lunar landing, my Dad and I watched the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey at our local drive-in theater, which in combination with the subsequent Apollo missions created quite a depth of contemplation in the mind of a young, impressionable girl.  Add to that the popularity of a new show called Star Trek, as well as comic favorites such as, Superman, and you can understand my fascination with space, other planets, and alien life.

For the most part, through the entertainment mediums my parents would allow me to experience, aliens never came to Earth.  Space explorers always encountered them out there.  So, the thought never entered my mind that aliens would come to Earth.  Clearly, my parents hadn’t told me about War of the Worlds, which premiered seven years before I was born, or enlightened me about the Roswell incident.

I can understand that they wouldn’t have told me such a thing.  I had been traumatized in childhood by relentless night terrors, and I’m sure they didn’t want to feed my imagination any further.  Surely, accounts of alien abduction would have sent me over the edge.  That’s why I probably never heard anything about “the Greys,” until I was a teenager.

I don’t remember how I found out about these malevolent creatures from another planet, but I remember being frightened to the core.  At that point, fearful that I’d be abducted if I even entertained the thought,  I absolutely refused to engage in any conversation about aliens or flying saucers.  I just blocked out the entire subject for years.

But, curiosity eventually got the best of me.  It always does.  It’s because I need to understand the world I live in, and denial interferes with that understanding.

So, at some point, I decided to take this “Grey”  bull by the horns and figure it out for myself.  I immersed myself in books like, Communion, never missed an episode of The X Files, and took mental notes when viewing shows like, Unsolved Mysteries and In Search Of , which often featured accounts of alien abduction.  My goal was to find out:  Who are these aliens?  Where do they come from?  Why are they doing what they’re doing?  And, why hasn’t someone stopped them?  About that time, I also forced myself to watch the spine-chilling movie, Fire in the Sky.  But, I was also delighted in seeing ET and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which had more of an influence on me than I realized at the time.

And, as they say, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Many years into my personal research project I came across information that relieved my fear of the Greys.  I don’t remember how I received the information–it could have been a website or a New Age book.  I don’t know.  But, I vividly remember the feeling of relief that surfaced and the resonance I felt with the conclusion drawn, although the information revealed that Greys really do exist.

A long time ago this species of extraterrestrial being, supposedly from Zeta Reticuli, had been given permission by the Galactic Federation (a kind of intergalactic police force that maintains harmony amongst the many galaxies of the universe) to come to Earth to study human behavior, genetics, and our environment.  However, as the Greys continued to abduct, traumatize, and do invasive medical testing on humans, the Galactic Federation prohibited them from having any contact with the planet or its Earthlings.   Evidently, this banishment happened shortly before the new millennium began.

I don’t know if this is true or if I just want it to be true.  So, I measured this information with personal truth meter, which is a very specific feeling I get in my throat–it’s weird, I know, but it’s always accurate–and I ascertained that this information, although simplistic in nature, was true.  But, if it’s true, then why do we continue to see UFOs?  It happens all over the world.  Millions of people witness all sorts of unidentified flying objects.  Who is this?  What do they want?  Are they malevolent like the Greys or benevolent beings from a far-away star system?

Finding an answer is very important to me because I’ve had three distinct, relatively-recent UFO experiences, and I NEED to understand why.

My first experience took place in 1999, when my husband and I stayed in a cabin at Lost Maples State Park in Vanderpool, Texas.  There was nothing near this cabin for miles and miles, except for beautiful maples trees that were turning the most brilliant shades of gold and red.  Not even ambient light reached our remote location.

The autumn evening was so beautiful that we decided to spend it together in a hammock right outside the cabin.  I had never been in such an isolated place before and was in awe of the millions of stars that I never knew existed.  We cuddled in the hammock hoping to see some shooting stars, and that’s when we saw it.

Two objects that looked like white, sparkling stars were darting from way over there to way over here with such speed that we knew it wasn’t commercial aircraft, a satellite, or even a meteor.  Actually, it appeared that these two objects were playing a game of tag with each other.  At first, it was fascinating to watch.  Then, I remembered all the stories of people who had been abducted from isolated places, and I got really scared.  Needless to say, we went inside for the rest of the evening.

Then, in 2006, I heard a low rumble outside my house.  I was in the room furthest from the front of the house, when I heard what I thought was a fire engine going down our street.  Since we live around the corner from the fire station, this was commonplace.  The fire engine driver usually switches gears about the time they reach my house, which makes this low rumbling noise.  It’s always brief, so it caught my attention when the rumble didn’t stop.  I was in the living room watching television with my daughter, who was working on her laptop, and I got up to investigate.  When I opened the door, I didn’t see any kind vehicle on the street.  I followed the sound, which now seemed to be coming from up above.  Honestly, I expected to see a plane or far-away helicopter.  But what I saw was not of this world.  Right above me, only slightly higher that the roof and tree lines was a HUGE, black, triangular-shaped THING with red lights at each point.  It blocked out all the stars behind it, so I got a pretty good idea of its size, which I estimate to be that of a football field.

I frantically called for my daughter.  She said, “What is it, I’m in the middle of something?”  I yelled, “Come quick!”  Again, she said, “What is it?”  By the time she arrived on the front porch, the thing had passed over our house and was out of sight.  What was it?  Who was it?   I just don’t know.

The funny thing is, seeing the black triangle thing didn’t alarm me like the UFOs had at the cabin.  Actually, I was filled with a kind of nervous excitement–you know, like being on a roller coaster and getting excited and scared at the same time, right before the first big drop.  The only unfortunate thing about this experience is that no else saw what I saw, not even one neighbor.  I was simply left bewildered.

Then, on December 19, 2009, I went to bed around midnight after a joyous birthday celebration with my family.  As I lay in bed looking out my window, expressing gratitude to God for my beautiful life, I saw an orange orb.  I assumed it was the light from an airplane.  But, then, another orange orb came into view.  And I thought, “Oh my God, those two planes are going to crash!”  Then, I saw another orange orb, then another, until there were five orbs traveling at great speed in the direction of my house.  It appeared they were maintaining some kind of formation, until one orb suddenly jerked away.  Then, another orb joined it, and they seemed to be playing a game.

I jumped from my bed and ran down the stairs to go outside for an unobstructed view–yes, in bare feet and a nightgown in the dead of winter.  My husband and daughter, who were downstairs watching television, asked where I was going in such a rush.  All I could say was, “Come quick!”  They soon joined me on the driveway.  I’m so glad that there were other people witnessing this because I might have questioned my own sanity.  We watched for a good half hour, as these orange orbs went in and out of formation, until we couldn’t see them any more.

The next day I thought for sure there would be something in the news about it.  But there wasn’t.  I put a post on Facebook asking if anyone else had seen it, but no one had.  I couldn’t understand this.  No one else in the entire city of Austin saw the orbs?!  Thank goodness for Google.  I searched “orange orb UFOs” and found YouTube footage from others who had witnessed something similar in locations around the world.  There’s even a Facebook page that tracks these orange orb sightings.  However,  there isn’t any explanation of what it is, who it is, and why so many people around the globe are seeing them.

This disturbs my mind, which needs answers.  But, I think I might have found an explanation.

I am now deep in the 25th year of my spiritual, consciousness-awakening experience, and have had access to many great teachers. From these teachers, I have connected the cosmic dots and have come up with an explanation that suits my inquisitive mind.

It would take pages and pages to explain how I came up with my hypothesis, but I can do that if anyone wants to know.  The point I’m trying to make with this blog post is to share information that I think will be useful in the very near future–like next week, for example.

Whether it’s next week or by the end of 2011, I believe that we will finally come to understand that the UFOs that we’ve been seeing in the skies since the year 2001 are benevolent beings from other star systems, who have been playfully making their existence known.

From my understanding, they are aware of our collective, conscious fear of extraterrestrial invasion, which has been perpetuated by our government, the media, and the entertainment industry since the 1950s.  And, the last thing they want to do is promote more fear, especially because, in actuality, they are here to help us at this pivotal, unprecedented moment in human history–The Great Shift in Consciousness.

You see, Earth is a kind of school.  It’s the Harvard of the universe.  From what I understand, many star beings (or spirits from Heaven, as we would refer to them from a religious point of view) want to incarnate as human beings in this hyper-challenging learning environment, as a means to more fully evolve as spiritual beings.

If granted the opportunity by our Creator to come to Earth, it is done with complete amnesia of the wisdom that we as spirit beings possess.  We are, therefore, born into dense, third-dimensional energy, where we forget our divinity, our power to create, and our knowledge of the universe and all the life forms that exist beyond our atmosphere.  We choose to live in a world of duality that allows for the illusion that we are separate entities, fully disconnected from each other as individuals, nations, planets, and galaxies.

Therein, lies the ultimate spiritual goal–to RE-MEMBER.

For aeons, we have not remembered.  That is why there have been thousands of wars, never-ending oppression, patriarchal inequality, divisive disharmony amongst religions, races, and creeds, as well as fear of alien invaders.  However, the process of remembering our ONENESS–the great shift in consciousness–has been slowly but surely spreading across the planet.  It began in the 1960s with the hippie’s peace and love movement and was accelerated by the 1987 Harmonic Convergence.  This mass awakening has now reached the tipping point.  It can no longer be stopped.  And, this is good news.

This tipping point is what allows benevolent beings (highly-intelligent life forms acting on behalf of our Creator) to answer our calls for assistance, which we’ve sent for ages to God/the Heavens/the Angelic Realm/the Universe–whatever/whoever you call it, it’s all one in the same. Through communication with this intelligent life we will be able to understand the truth of our distant past, which will coincide with what the ancient Sumerians recorded, explain what’s written in the Bible about giants and chariots of fire, and even decode messages that have been hidden in art, such as the Madonna and Saint Giovannio.  Not only can these beings illuminate our past, but they can also shows us what is taking place in the present, which is preventing us from re-membering our divinity and our power to create.

With their loving assistance, we will be able to heal the Earth that we’ve brought to the brink of destruction.  We will be able to create peace among nations and truly become a global family.  We will be able to release all our fear, which was created by the duality of the 3rd dimension, and return to a state of unconditional love, where Christ-consciousness can fully fill our hearts.

Isn’t this the ultimate goal of all religions?

I believe we will be returning to Heaven–to God–by bringing heaven to Earth–as above, so below.  To me, this is what the Bible is referring to when it describes the second coming of Christ.  I believe He will first arrive through our hearts.  This Christ-consciousness in our hearts will serve the same purpose as the palm fronds that were placed on Christ’s path as he entered Jerusalem.  It will herald our re-birth.  With this illumination we will be able to create a new Eden, just like the Lord’s Prayer insinuates:  “Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. . .”

You see, it’s like I’ve been saying for years–it’s not science OR religion.  It’s both.  In understanding the science of the cosmos combined with wisdom of the spiritual realm, we can finally see how the pieces fit together and, once and for all, know who we are and why we’re here.  We will finally understand the multiple dimensions of our universe, all the divine beings that exist, and how we can work together to create infinite peace and love.

    That’s my hypothesis.

I believe my exposure to and curiosity about the cosmos, as well as my lifelong religious and spiritual quest, has led me to this moment in time.  The influence of religion, Lost in Space, the Apollo missions, the 1960s peace movement, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, my own UFO experiences, and even my latest celebrity crush on particle physicist, Brian Cox, is not simply coincidental.  It all led me to sharing this message with you right now.

I believe we will be introduced to some of the benevolent beings very soon.  Please don’t be afraid when this happens.  Listen to them with your heart, and YOU will KNOW why they are here.  After all, we called them with our pleas for peace.  They are as much God’s children as you and I.

And, although I don’t want to mention much about this, I do want to say briefly that there are those who will not want this shift in consciousness to take place.  There is nothing they can do to stop it, but they will try.  They will use fear that has been buried deep within the collective psyche just for this purpose–to maintain their control over the masses.

I believe this is the battle between good and evil, which is described in the Book of Revelations.  And I believe this battle is already taking place.  I conjecture that we will soon learn that the anti-Christ isn’t one person.  The anti-Christ is a collective quality that permeates every facet of our existence on Earth.  This anti-Christ quality exists wherever there is a lack of love.  This is what we will understand from the evolved beings.  Again, when they speak, I ask you to listen from your heart.  You will be able to distinguish who is here to harm and who is here to help.

I believe we all incarnated at this monumental moment in history to play a very important role in the ascension of humanity and our planet.  We each possess the power to be the change we wish to see in the world, and NOW is our moment of truth.  One day our grandchildren and their children’s children will read about this moment in history and will feel tremendous awe and gratitude at the courage, wisdom, and leap of faith we had, which took humanity out of the true dark ages and into the eternal light.

I’m excited beyond what words can describe to be on this magnificent journey, and I am most honored to be creating the New Earth with YOU.

    Peace and love,

Like most Americans, I hadn’t heard about the 26-year-old fruit vendor in Tunisia that set himself on fire in protest of his government. Neither did I hear about the uprising that followed in that country, until people in Egypt started doing the same thing. Then, the light went on in my head!

As a student of Barbara Marx Hubbard in her Foundation for Conscious Evolution, I learned that a Great Shift in Consciousness was occurring. This shift had been activated in 1987 with the Harmonic Convergence, which was celebrated by an event organized by Dr. Jose Arguelles, an eminent scholar of Mayan cosmology. According to Arguelles’ research, between 1987 and 2012, our galaxy will experience a major energy shift, a turning point, at the end of a 26,000-year cycle that will change the global perspective of man from one of conflict to that of cooperation.

According to Hubbard and Arguelles, this shift in energy has been occurring quite subtly so far, both in the collective consciousness and in the lives of individuals. Most of us don’t even know that it’s happening. We don’t feel the increase in the frequency of the Earth and have no idea that our bodies are slowly transforming from carbon to crystalline. Nevertheless, it’s happening. Scientists, like Greg Braden and Nassim Haramein are recording it. The proof is out there, and it’s not hard to find.

I personally became aware of the energy shift, when I began noticing injustices in the world and simply couldn’t ignore them any longer. It distressed me to see others suffer because of war, oppression, hunger, poverty, famine, disease and on and on. It forced me to look at issues for the first time with the eyes of a child and ask, “Why?”

Why should thousands and thousands of people die from starvation in Africa, when we have enough resources on this planet to feed everyone? The simple and abhorrent reason that people in Africa have suffered and died from starvation is because the rest of the world did not share their resources.

Why must we engage in war? We know the answer to this question, too, from history class when we studied the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. The reasons why countries or factions of people go to war are still the same in the present day. People might say, “Well, war’s a little more complicated than that.” But, I will tell you that it is NOT more complicated than that.

It was my indignation about war that prompted my attention to the news regarding the revolt in Egypt. I watched in wonder as hundreds of thousands of Egyptians gathered peacefully in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, standing firm in their protest against the oppression of their people. I feared it would lead to bloodshed, after Hosni Mubarak issued orders with his usual heavy hand. And, sadly several protesters did lose their lives.

About that time, I got an email from a friend who was contemplating what would happen in America if such a revolt ever occurred. He worried about a depletion of food and water. He mentioned that banks would close leaving the masses without a means to obtain cash for even the most basic necessities. He talked of looting and people with guns and outright mayhem. Since I had seen what happened after Hurricane Katrina, I knew that his fear was well-founded. So, I talked to my husband about it and asked, “Should we get a supply of MREs and bottled water? What about diapers for our grandson? Should we cash-in our IRA to have a substantial amount of money on hand?

For a moment I went to the fear place, but soon realized that this place was no longer familiar to me. As part of the shift in consciousness, I have become fearless (well, most of the time!). I am certainly committed to living without fear and consciously choose every day to create from love rather than fear. So, reacting with alarm didn’t feel normal anymore. Instead, while contemplating the affect of a revolt in America, I chose to visualize what would happen if we all decided to collaborate instead of act with an attitude of “every man for himself.” It was a lofty vision, I know, and certainly not indicative of past human behavior; but, seriously, what if we recognized that there is a better way of dealing with a crisis—one of peace and collective cooperation?

Before I could even think about it any further, my attention was drawn back to Cairo, where Mubarak was expected to announce his resignation. I had Aljazeera News streaming live on my computer at work. I listened to the crowd chanting in jubilation and could sense their swell of patriotism, as they realized that they had peacefully and successfully ended oppression in their country. This was unprecedented—such creative and amicable collaboration taking place at exceptional speed amongst hundreds of thousands of people. I was watching history unfold right in front of my eyes! Then, Mubarak announced that he would not resign.

“Oh, dear Lord,” I thought, “that crowd is going to go crazy.” They were so hyped up from their perceived victory that I couldn’t see how they were just going to turn around defeated and go home. Again, I expected bloodshed. However, the crowd remained vigilant, but peaceful. They stood their ground and refused to accept Mubarak’s decision. They didn’t go home as the Vice President suggested and, instead, stayed the course of their protest. This was unheard of, as far as civil disobedience goes. I was amazed to hear reports that even police and military personnel were laying down their weapons and refusing to arrest protesters. Something very different was happening. Then, suddenly, without any fanfare Mubarak stepped down as president. I was left speechless at the course of events.

That’s when I recalled what I had learned at the Foundation for Conscious Evolution. Hubbard explained, along with visionaries such as Jean Houston and Elisabet Sahtouris, that when a critical mass is achieved, a tipping point is created, where new possibilities and potentialities exist. And, this is exactly what had happened in Egypt! With the help of social media, critical masses of people were able to connect, communicate and cooperate in a way that humanity has never witnessed before. I had learned about this in theory, as well as seen it on a small-scale with the Hundredth Monkey Effect, but who would have believed it could happen on a scale this large, so quickly with such success!

I now know that we can absolutely, peacefully rise up against destructive forces and effect change in our lives, in our communities, in our governments and in our countries. It’s no longer just a theory or New Age wishful thinking or something that requires bloodshed and hoarding of food, cash and ammunition. We can come together as the divine children of God that we are and create positive change that ripples out to the rest of humanity, thereby, changing the course of human history. We can do it because it has now been done.

This just blows my mind! I was told this would happen, especially amongst the young people (the Indigo and Crystal children), who simply won’t stand for such things as oppression. After all, it IS madness to allow one person or one group of people to dictate the oppression of a country or control the world’s resources or quash the truth about our divine birthright of living in freedom and abundance.

So, it was no surprise that it was young people not affiliated with any particular political party who started the revolts in Tunisia and Egypt. However, most of us have never really looked at these kinds of situations through an unfiltered lens. Most of us have grown up with war, oppression, and separation as the way things are. But, those who have awakened to the truth of our individual divinity and potential for co-creation with our Creator don’t accept that. This is exactly what Hubbard and Arguelles alluded to when they talked about a great shift in energy. And, this is exactly what we are seeing in Tunisia, Egypt, and now in Yemen.

Where will this wave of new energy take us? According to a February 5th article in Conscious Life News, there’s scientific proof that galactic energies are triggering a worldwide consciousness expansion. Yes, the same galactic energies that Arguelles referred to. Interestingly, this article was published before the revolt in Egypt made mainstream news, but described the event to a tee.

However, scientists, such as Bruce Lipton and David Wilcock, have been talking for years about the Earth’s impending alignment with the galactic center of our universe, which coincides with the ending of the 26,000-year cycle of our galaxy.  And they have eloquently described the subsequent energetic effect it will have on our planet and humanity. These prophesies and predictions certainly were the inspiration for my blog post, “2012: Doomsday or Age of Awakening” and important sources for my book, Reunion on the Rainbow Bridge.

For twenty-five years I have followed the work of these scientists, futurists and visionaries resonating with their wisdom. However, although I fully concurred with what they were saying, I wondered if I would ever see such a shift in my lifetime. But, amazingly, the world has watched as Egypt’s system of government was dismantled overnight, and we continue to watch in awe as they create a new system of democracy with extraordinary grace, reverence, and cooperation.

So, where once before there was great fear about 2012 and the necessary breakdown of global systems that are based on oppression, there is now renewed hope that we can make change without life-altering trauma to ourselves, our communities and our countries. In essence, the world is like a blank canvas, and we can paint anything we want because we have the power to do that now. We can realistically dare to dream of a world of peace and abundance for all.

What will you create with your new powers? I’m certainly looking forward to seeing some changes in my own country within our own government and power structures.

In the meantime, the metaphor is not lost on me that this wave of change began in the very cradle of civilization, where Moses once told the Egyptian Pharaoh, “Let my people go.”  Connecting these dots gives me goosebumps!

These are astonishing times we are living in right now! We are witnessing the beginning of a change in human history that’s unprecedented. One day, we will tell our great grandchildren about this time, when we truly left the Dark Ages and entered the New Age of Peace.

So on this extraordinary day, I wish you peace and love and look forward to co-creating with you.  Please share your thoughts, too.  I’d love to hear how these profound current events are effecting your life.

    Love and light,

    Sherri Swanson Defesche

During my teen years, I chose to follow the faith of the Protestant church, and as a young adult I chose Catholicism. These churches were meaningful to me along my spiritual path, as I learned about the fundamentals of Christianity.

One of the mainstays of the religion is the expectation of the End of Times, as is graphically depicted in the Book of Revelations. For half of my life I believed that a ferocious battle between good and evil would take place. And, as I was reminded on most Sundays, it would happen at an unexpected time, so it was imperative that I be ready because it would only be the good Christians who would ascend, while the rest of humanity suffered through plagues then death then an eternity in Hell.

Now, as a middle-aged woman, who has seriously studied religion and spirituality, I have come to believe that God is LOVE and as such he would neither judge his children to be unworthy of returning home nor inflict the slaughtering of his creation. Nevertheless, I respect that Armageddon is a belief held dear by many Christians. The only reason that I bring it up is that with the current state of world affairs—wars, cruel dictatorships, oppression, racism, inequality, famine, poverty, homelessness, financial collapse and the corruption that has infected our governments and institutions, I hear more and more discussion about how the End of Times is near. Coincidentally, this talk is blending with the buzz about the year 2012.

So, what’s the buzz about? Just enter the digits 2-0-1-2 into a computer search engine, and you will find no shortage of websites that postulate about the predictions and prophecies of that mysterious year, which is based on the Mayan calendar. On this calendar, time seems to end precisely on December 21, 2012. But what does that mean exactly—an apocalypse, a catastrophic Earth change, or an atomic war? Perhaps, the pre-eminent expert on the Mayan, Dr. Jose Arguelles, can shed some light on the question.

It was Arguelles, who launched the 2012 movement with the success of his book, The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology, which coincided with the Harmonic Convergence in August, 1987. According to Arguelles, this convergence marked the Earth’s initiation into a 25-year period of significant evolutionary change, which would climax in the year 2012.

But, who were the Mayans? What was their message for a civilization that would inhabit Earth 2,000 years in the future? Why did their calendar end on an exact date, and why do we care?

Well, the mysteries of the Mayan are vast and varied, but what is known for sure is that on their calendar they not only tracked local time and seasons, but they also tracked celestial alignment within our solar system. And, it is a rare alignment of the Earth with the center of our galaxy (which happens only once every 26,000 years) that heralds the dramatic evolutionary change.

It was while Arguelles was studying the mathematics of the calendar that it became clear by the quality of harmonic numbers that the calendar was measuring some type of harmonic wave—a beam, in other words, of which the Earth is passing through. Arguelles conjectures that this beam is 5,125 years wide and that it is being generated from the core of our galaxy.

From this beam, different types of radio waves (information) are being emanated. The question is what kind of information are we receiving? Well, we get a clue from Mayan science, which is based on the principles of resonance, which assumes that key factors in universal operations are in essence vibratory waves. (It is these waves that eventually become matter, such as atoms and subatomic particles, which then exist in harmony with each other.)

An interesting example of this is that the activity of the brain is measurable in different wave cycles and frequencies, and the alpha frequency of the brain has been determined to be 7.5 hertz megacycles, which, amazingly, is the same exact frequency of the Earth. Through matching our own resonance and frequencies with environmental resonance and frequencies, we harmonically draw energy from the environment through the medium of our bodies and vice versa. But, what happens when our resonances and frequencies are out of balance with our environment?

Well, it brings us to where we are today—living on a dying planet in a civilization that doesn’t reflect harmony at all. This is because for eons we have defined ourselves as being separate from everything—God, nature, animals and each other. And, in the process, we have sunk into a collective consciousness based on this belief in separation, which has left us feeling disempowered as individuals and only able to function in society by transferring authority to governments and institutions. Unfortunately, we are learning that these authority figureheads are abusing their power and no longer rule in the best interest of humanity or the planet. Arguelles believes that we have come to accept as a collective consciousness that living in the dark (familiar ignorance) is better than the light (truth), and inexplicably we fight to stay where we are. This leaves humanity in a complacent, hypnotic state thriving on negative energy as a norm, which serves as a comforting constant, but creates a terrible resonance imbalance.

So, where do we go from here? How do we get out of this mess we’ve created?

Well, according to futurist, Barbara Marx Hubbard, the imbalance reflected in our current environmental and social system breakdowns is a good sign because it will serve as an evolutionary driver that can lead to transformation. That is, if we let it inspire us to create new systems that will better serve ALL humanity.

Hubbard even believes that it’s possible that we can evolve into a new human species—the universal human (homo universalis), a theory of which doesn’t take a great leap to contemplate. After all, we gone from pre-life to life and from animal life to human life, so why should evolution stop with homo sapiens sapiens? Hubbard asks, “Is it possible that a new species has been gestating in the womb of self-consciousness through the great avatars, mystics and visionaries for thousands of years and that, now, due to the current global crisis, this new human is being born in millions of us?”

If so, what would life as a universal human be like?

Well, in the midst of watching many of our institutional systems break down, we can also see (if we look very closely) that innovations and creative solutions are also emerging. This mirrors the belief of Ilya Prigogine, the Nobel prize-winning chemist, who said that when systems become more dysfunctional, they tend to use even more energy to sustain themselves. But, that is precisely the point when social innovations will emerge because nature has a tendency to converge upon that which is creative in order to manifest whole, new systems that operate at a higher degree of order.

Exciting innovations that are believed to be on the horizon include quantum computing, nanotechnology materials engineering, artificial intelligence and genetic engineering. Advances are also being made in the energy arena. Scientists have already discovered that 96 percent of the universe is made up of an unknown dark energy and a mysterious dark matter. According to astrophysicists, if and when this infinite supply of energy (also called zero-point energy domain) can be accessed, we will never again have to depend on fossil fuels, radioactive nuclear energy or other polluting technologies. With new forms of atomic lattice nanotechnology engineering, we will be able to create novel materials from this supply of energy. The materials generated from this process will be hundreds of times in excess of the energy required to produce it, which will result in an endless supply of clean energy that will affect every aspect of modern life. But, energy is not the only field where breakthroughs will be revealed.

Light technologies will also advance, which will revolutionize human health. Modulated coherent light and lighted crystals have already been found to have a healing effect on cells and organs. Healing techniques of the future will utilize this light to affect cells, tissues and organs, as well as modulate the body’s subtle energetic field. Ultimately, it will be recognized that human thinking and emotions can affect disease manifestation. And, as this knowledge becomes accepted in the mainstream, new educational systems will arise to teach people how to monitor their thoughts and emotions and, therefore, control their health.

Changes in the human mind will naturally follow. There is already strong evidence that the holographic universe acts as an interconnected mind to which each human has access. This interconnected thought field will lead to mainstream remote viewing, telepathy, and clairvoyant vision, which will change the way in which we communicate, engage in relationships, do business and conduct global interactions, especially since this new sight will allow for complete transparency of our thoughts, intentions and actions. Also, by becoming aware of the interconnected thought field, we will recognize that we create our reality with our thoughts, feelings, emotions, words and deeds. No longer will we feel disempowered or held victim, when we realize that to change our experience/reality we need merely to change our thoughts, feelings, emotions, words and actions. It’s as simple as that, and many enlightened ones are doing this right now.

So, with this wisdom and knowledge slowly filtering into our reality, movements for social responsibility and spirituality are dramatically increasing. As a matter of fact, Business for Social Responsibility, a non-profit organization founded in the 1990s, has grown to encompass 400 organizations, including half of the Fortune 500 companies. These organizations commit to honor ethical values and respect people, communities and the natural environment. And, it’s paying off! Lifestyles of Health & Sustainability reports that there is now a $228.9 billion US marketplace for goods and services focused on holistic health, the environment, social justice, personal development and sustainable living.

This shift in conscientious business and its emphasis on work/life balance will continue to ripple out into humanity and will grow into a higher order of existence for all of us. But, it will take all of us to create and sustain the new reality. We can do that by following the model that Kevin Laslo lays out in the book, The Mystery of 2012: Predictions, Prophecies & Possibilities:

    1. Live in ways that enable all other people to live as well, satisfying your needs without detracting from the chances of other people to satisfy theirs.

    2. Live in ways that respect the right to life and to economic and cultural development of all people, wherever they live and whatever their ethnic origin, sex, citizenship, station in life, and belief system.

    3. Live in ways that safeguard the intrinsic right to life and to an environment supportive of life for all things that live and grow on Earth.

    4. Pursue happiness, freedom, and personal fulfillment in harmony with the integrity of nature and with consideration for the similar pursuits of others in society.

    5. Require that your government relate to other nations and peoples peacefully and in a spirit of cooperation, recognizing the legitimate aspirations for a better life and a healthy environment of all the people in the human family.

    6. Require business enterprises to accept responsibility for all their stakeholders, as well as for the sustainability of their environment, demanding that they produce goods and offer services that satisfy legitimate demand without impairing nature and reducing the opportunities of smaller and less-privileged entrants to compete in the marketplace.

    7. Require public media to provide a constant stream of reliable information on basic trends and crucial processes to enable you and other citizens and consumers to reach informed decisions on issues that affect your and their life and well-being.

    8. Make room in your life to help those less privileged than you to live a life of dignity, free from the struggles and humiliations of abject poverty.

    9. Encourage young people and open-minded people of all ages to evolve the spirit that could empower them to make ethical decisions of their own on issues that decide their future and the future of their children.

    10. Work with like-minded people to preserve or restore the essential balances of the environment, with attention to your neighborhood, your country or region, and the whole of the biosphere.

With these guidelines in mind, we can actively co-create a higher collective consciousness, and from that higher consciousness, we can begin to disseminate the information being sent to us from the harmonic galactic beam, which requires a higher consciousness to understand.

Clearly, we have much work to do between now and 2012. James O’Dea says so eloquently in his essay, You Were Born For Such A Time As This:

I see evidence of vanishing forests, shrinking water tables, melting ice caps, disappearing species, growing deserts, degraded oceans, toxic pollution, and signs of climate imbalance. I see belief systems in their death throes, distracted masses, delusional leaders and incensed and humiliated peoples glorifying war and slaughter. I see the face of greed with its ever-expanding range of seductions, and I see the face of poverty with its multiple aspects of needless suffering and neglect.

I see all this without judgment—or without being judgmental, to be more precise. I see that I am a part of all this; it is my world. I am a part of the problem, and I am a part of the solution. It is because I choose not to live in denial, because I choose to be a witness to these times, with all their peril and promise, that I can see the implications of the swirling eddies of time itself as we move closer to 2012.

So, in closing, the question was, “Will 2012 herald a doomsday or an Age of Awakening?” Well, I believe the Mayan are right—it will be the end of life as we know it, but not the end of life on our beautiful blue planet. I believe that 2012 will mark a critical shift in the consciousness of our planet and humanity for which we cannot fathom in our current state of consciousness. I know this because I know lightworkers who have been laying the groundwork for this shift for many years, which is helping to raise humanity’s frequency to a tipping point that will make it possible for everyone to experience the positive effects of the shift. I feel an excitement in my soul fully knowing that something wonderfully out-of-this-world is going to happen, and I can hardly wait!

We live in the most profound time in human history, when we will experience a quantum leap in evolution and will be able create a world that, so far, we have only been able to pray for and imagine in our wildest dreams. I don’t think that anyone on this planet is here by accident. I believe we all decided to incarnate at this monumental time in order to fulfill our soul’s desire—to create heaven on earth.

Well, these are my thoughts about 2012. Tell me. . .what do you think?
